IMGCompress Tutorial
Follow these simple steps to compress your images using our tool.
1 Upload Your Image
You have two easy ways to upload your image:
- Drag and Drop: Simply drag your image file (JPG, PNG, or WebP) from your computer and drop it onto the designated area on the compressor page.
- Click to Select: Click anywhere inside the drag-and-drop area. This will open your file explorer, allowing you to navigate to and select the image file you want to compress.
Once uploaded, you'll see a preview of your original image on the left side, along with its file size and dimensions.
2 Adjust Compression Settings
- Quality Slider: Use the slider labeled "Compression Quality" to choose how much you want to compress the image. A lower percentage means higher compression (smaller file size) but potentially lower visual quality. A higher percentage preserves more quality but results in a larger file. The default is usually a good balance (e.g., 75%). You'll see the percentage value update as you move the slider.
- Output Format: Select the desired format for your compressed image from the dropdown menu (JPEG, PNG, or WEBP). JPEG is great for photos, PNG is good for graphics with transparency, and WebP offers excellent compression for both.
- Rename File (Optional): If you wish, you can enter a new name for your compressed image in the "Rename File" input box. If left blank, a default name like "compressed_image" will be used.
3 Compress and Preview
Click the blue button.
The tool will process your image based on your selected settings. A preview of the compressed image will appear on the right side, along with its new file size and the percentage reduction achieved.
4 Download Your Image
If you're happy with the result, click the green button.
The compressed image will be saved to your computer with the name you specified (or the default name) and the selected file extension (.jpg, .png, or .webp).
That's it! You can now compress another image by uploading a new file.
